Position Overview:
Under general supervision this position leads, and / or performs a variety of maintenance activities. This work consists of installing, repairing, and maintenance on a variety of traffic signs, guard rails, traffic islands, curb barriers, precast curbing, tuff posts, traffic control, and emergency response. Employees in this classification also assist Traffic Marking Lead with the installation of Pavement Marking. Employees follow written work instructions and must use judgement in determining maintenance needs due to physical conditions in the field. Furthermore, they must utilize mobile asset management software as well as work management software to perform their daily duties.

Working hours: Monday – Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Job Responsibilities

- Install, Maintain, and repair all types of traffic signage
- Lead teams in the installation maintenance and repair of concrete curbing, Crash Cushions, Guardrails, and Delineator Posts
- Paint curb zones
- Read interpret and work orders and engineered plans, fills out daily paperwork
- Set up temporary traffic control and signs for special events
- Provides training
- Abates graffiti
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:
- Two years of experience performing general laboring/manual work involving the installation, repair, removal, and maintenance of non-electrical traffic control devices (Combinations of education, training and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability).


Strong candidates will have some of the following experience or are able to describe comparable experience:

- One year of experience installing Traffic Signs.
- One year of experience assisting with the installation of pavement markings.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
- May be required to work nights, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Required to stand, walk, or bend for extended periods of time.
- Frequently required to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- Required to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and while exposed to traffic and heavy exhaust fumes.
Other Requirements:
- Current State of Washington drivers' license.
- Other pertinent licenses' and/or certifications may be required, e.g., First Aide/CPR, Flagging Card, etc.

The full salary range for this position is $39.06 - $40.62 per hour.
