Job Description

Flexographic Printing Press Lead Operator

A growing flexible packaging manufacturer is seeking experienced Flexographic Printing Press Lead Operators to produce high-quality printed flexible packaging materials.

This role is for a 2nd shift schedule, Monday&-Thursday (1:00 PM &- 11:00 PM).

Pay is up to $35 per hour, depending on experience and mechanical aptitude.

Relocation assistance is available for highly qualified candidates.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
& Review job specifications from the prepress department; assist with anilox roll selection and determine appropriate color sequence.
& Install print cylinders, set up print decks, and ensure proper registration.
& Configure register eyes and verify barcodes and print repeats.
& Collaborate with Quality Assurance to complete job approval processes.
& Set trim blades and confirm measurements prior to initial production run.
& Select and set the correct web path for each job.
& Continuously monitor all aspects of the press during operation, including web width, edge alignment, color consistency, registration, repeat accuracy, and overall print and screen quality.
& Package and label finished rolls as needed.
& Pull and retain samples for Quality Control.
& Record production issues such as material defects, downtime, and plate-related concerns.
& Perform post-run cleanup, complete required documentation, and verify accuracy of production records.
& Adhere to all food safety and quality standards, escalating any concerns to management.
& Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
& High school diploma or equivalent required.
& Strong mechanical aptitude.
& Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
& Capable of stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders or stairs.
& Detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to learn.
& Excellent color vision, with or without corrective lenses.
& Basic computer proficiency required; familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word preferred.
& Prior experience in flexographic printing preferred.
& Experience in flexible packaging is a plus. Familiarity with Mark Andy or Gallus presses preferred, though experience with other equipment is acceptable.
& Experience with defect detection systems is preferred.
