UW Medical Center Montlake - 4NE Medical- Surgical Unit has an outstanding opportunity for a Full time Evenings- Health Unit Coordinator.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full-time Evenings ( 100% FTE)

  • Mondays- Fridays 3:00pm-11:30pm

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment where multitasking and strong organizational skills are essential

  • Provide staff, providers, and patients with an efficient system of internal and external communications, including answering phones and triaging call lights

  • Respond to patient and family inquiries in a timely, courteous, and accurate manner

  • Assist in maintaining a welcoming and organized unit environment for patients, families, and staff

  • Work closely with the charge RN to help manage patient flow, prioritize unit needs, and coordinate admits, transfers, and discharges

  • Prepare and compile discharge packets to support timely and safe patient discharges

  • Coordinate transportation and appropriate paperwork for patient transfers and diagnostic testing

  • Handle unit paperwork, including patient chart maintenance, consent forms, and other documentation

  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and restock as needed
    Utilize computer systems such as Epic, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook for communication, documentation, and coordination

  • Partner with all members of the care team to prioritize patient satisfaction and exceptional care delivery

  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND

  • One year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience
    OR

  • An equivalent combination of education/experience
