- General Responsibilities
This job is not a position that is being filled by ESD 112. Candidates for this position will be hired directly by the Wishram School District. If you are interested in ESD 112 positions please contact the ESD 112 HR Coordinator, RaeLynn Forcella at raelynn.forcella@esd112.org
Wishram School District will have an opening for a Kindergarten/1st Grade Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This position currently serves Kindergarten/1st Grade with the potential for future early learning or preschool programming responsibilities.
Wishram School District is a small rural district that values strong relationships between students, staff, and families. Teachers work closely with colleagues across grade levels and subject areas, and the small school environment allows educators to know their students well and provide meaningful support for student learning and growth. Enrollment in Kindergarten/1st Grade is expected to be 8-10 students, creating a learning environment where teachers truly know their students and can provide individualized attention. Class sizes are intentionally small and typically include only a handful of students, allowing teachers to build meaningful relationships with each learner and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs. Wishram School has worked intentionally to maintain a school culture grounded in mutual respect, responsibility, and positive relationships between students and staff, contributing to a supportive and welcoming learning environment where both students and educators feel comfortable, respected, and able to focus on teaching and learning. Staff members have opportunities to collaborate, contribute ideas, and play an active role in shaping the educational program of the school.
Our school is located in the town of Wishram, Washington, in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge along the banks of the Columbia River. It is a short distance from The Dalles, Oregon and Goldendale, Washington. The community is rural and offers an ideal setting for those who enjoy outdoor recreation, close-knit communities, and the natural beauty of the Columbia River Gorge. The community is very supportive of the school and its staff.
